A walk through history, local flavors, and hidden corners of the Istrian countryside

An active day begins in the village of Korte above Izola, home to the Kašler archaeological site, which offers not only stunning views of the Sečovlje Salt Pans but also a rich historical heritage. From the village center, you will set off with a local guide on a walk to the very spot where the Histri built their first fortified settlements 5,000 years ago. Through engaging storytelling, you will travel back in time and experience a piece of their legacy.

On the way to the winery Korenika & Moškon, your guide will lead you through the colorful narrow streets of Korte. A tasting of premium local wines, accompanied by traditional Istrian snacks, provides the perfect refreshment before continuing the afternoon’s activities.

This is followed by a walk to the Frata water source, where you will learn more about the life of this rural area. Water sources were once the only access points to water, used for washing laundry, drinking water, and watering livestock.
