Founded in 1947, Vinakoper today cultivates nearly 600 hectares of vineyards stretching across the entire Slovenian coast. The magnificent wine cellar on Šmarska Street in Koper reveals the secrets behind the creation of premium wines – from carefully tended vineyards to modern production and ageing processes.

During the guided tour, you will discover the history of the cellar, insights into the Istrian terroir, and the characteristics of both indigenous and international grape varieties such as Refošk, Malvasia, Yellow Muscat, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and the distinctive Cipro.

The tour includes a presentation of the wine production and ageing process, as well as access to the spaces where wines with a true Istrian character are created.

Tastings take place in an elegant tasting room, suitable for individuals and small groups, where the combination of a refined interior and knowledgeable experts completes the experience to perfection.

The professionally guided tasting reveals the diversity of wine collections – from fresh white and red wines to aged labels and special editions – while guests receive answers to all their questions about wines, vintages, and food pairings.

After the tasting, visitors can explore the wine boutique, offering the full range of Vinakoper wines along with selected local products such as Istrian cheeses, truffles, olive oil, pasta, and gift sets.
