Experience Piran and the Sečovlje salt pans with eBikes

With eBikes time is on our side!

We will start the cycling day with coffee and a detailed description of the route and after that we ride!

• Tour introduction - we will provide basic information about the cycle route and teach you about the rules of riding eBikes in a convoy, on the road and on cycle paths.
• Basic Instructions - we'll learn how eBikes work, how to ride them and what to look out for when using them. It is very important that every participant knows how to ride a bike.
• Portorož or the City of Roses - we'll start our journey in charming and modern Portorož, where we'll quickly get away from the hustle of the city and head to the more peaceful and green Lucija.
• Forma viva - the path will lead us to unique outdoor stone sculptures. We will see sculptures from more than 30 countries. Most of the 120 stone sculptures are exhibited in the Seča Park. There are also some in Koper, Izola, Piran, Portorož and Lucija.
• Sečovlje Landscape Park and the Salt Pans - we will continue eBiking along the St. Bartholomew canal to the entrance of the Sečovlje Salt pans. Once there we will take time to admire the salt pans, the museum and buy products from salt. With its 700-year-old tradition salt pans are today one of the largest coastal wetlands and at the same time the most important Slovenian site from an ornithological point of view. The number of different bird species in this area in terms of breeding and wintering is much higher than in any other comparable location.
• Visit to the Saltworks Museum – this is optional and can be part of the tour.
• Fiesa and the Cliffs - after a visit to the Salt pans we will continue our way along the panoramic road above Strunjan and Portorož via Beli Križ to Fiesa. There we will see a beautiful lake where salt and fresh water mix. We will continue under the cliffs towards Piran (we will walk part of the way).
• The charming town of Piran - we will cycle to St George's Church in Piran, where there will be time for sightseeing and photography. We'll descend towards the Cape Madona (walking alongside our bikes for part of the way, if necessary) and follow the city's waterfront and narrow streets to Tartini Square where we will take a few minutes to admire the square.
• Wine tasting and local delicacies - through the Bernardin village and past the culturally protected salt warehouse we will return to our starting point in the center of Portorož. We will end our journey, with a feast of typical Istrian cold cuts - prosciutto, cheese, and olives, with local wines “Refošk” and “Malvazija”.
